Handwara, Jun 22 (JKNS): A two-year-old girl died after an accidental drowning incident at her residence in Kralgund area of Handwara, officials said on Monday.
Officials told news agency JKNS that Sibra Javid (2), daughter of Javid Iqbal Lone, a resident of Renin, Kralgund, had accidentally fallen into a water tub at her home.
Following the incident, family members immediately shifted the minor to Government Medical College (GMC) Handwara for treatment.
However, despite efforts by doctors, the child succumbed, officials said.
Preliminary information suggests the incident was accidental in nature, with no indication of any foul play. Further proceedings, if any, are being carried out as per protocol. (JKNS)
