Srinagar, June 27 (JKNS): Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Anshul Garg, on Saturday said extensive preparations have been made for the forthcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, with all essential facilities being upgraded along both the Pahalgam and Baltal routes, while emphasising that the role of stakeholders remains crucial for the successful conduct of the annual pilgrimage.

Speaking to reporters, on the sidelines of stakeholders meet with LG Manoj Sinha with regard to Amarnath Yatra Preparations, as per news agency JKNS, Garg said preparations for the Yatra have been under regular review for the past three months, with continuous meetings being held to ensure smooth arrangements.

“Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra has been taking place for years. As the Lieutenant Governor said, the role of stakeholders is very important alongside the administration. We had an interaction with them today, and regular meetings and reviews have been conducted over the last three months,” Garg said.

The Divisional Commissioner said arrangements have been strengthened at both the Pahalgam and Baltal routes, including facilities at base camps, accommodation tents, drinking and filtered water, uninterrupted power supply, telecom connectivity, healthcare services, ambulances and disaster management mechanisms.

“A lot of preparations are underway. Our aim is to ensure that everything is fully ready before the Yatra begins on July 3,” Garg said.

Describing Saturday’s interaction as an important component of the overall preparations, Garg said the annual meeting chaired by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha brings together all stakeholders, including representatives of different communities, religious leaders, civil society members and political leaders.

“All stakeholders shared valuable suggestions regarding the Yatra. Some of these suggestions will be implemented during this year’s pilgrimage, while others will be taken up as part of long-term planning,” he added. (JKNS)
