An initiative by the Indian Army, two buildings were sponsored by the Rotary Club of Bombay Central, whose generous contribution enabled the creation of a modern, well-equipped facility. In addition, a Carpet Weaving Training Lab was established by the Indian Army in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Carpet Technology, further enriching the Centre’s offerings and preserving traditional craftsmanship.

The upgraded Centre now features a wide range of modern facilities designed to empower the local community. Carpet Weaving Lab, developed with expert support from the Indian Institute of Carpet Technology, provides opportunities to preserve and promote traditional craftsmanship. Women in the valley are being supported through a dedicated Stitching and Tailoring Lab, aimed at enhancing livelihood skills. To foster innovation and learning, the Centre also houses an Incubation Lab equipped with a library, smart classroom and internet access, ensuring that youth have exposure to digital resources and contemporary knowledge. In addition, a Mini Play Area has been created to support the growth and development of children, making the Centre a truly inclusive space for all age groups.
