Srinagar, July 2 (JKNS): Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board Chairperson Dr. Syed Darakhshaan Andrabi on Thursday led a plantation drive in the Eidgah area of Jammu, reiterating the Board’s commitment to expanding green cover and calling upon citizens, particularly the youth, to actively participate in protecting the environment by planting and nurturing trees.
With a strong commitment to environmental protection and sustainable development, Chairperson of J&K Waqf Board, Dr. Syed Darakhshaan Andrabi today participated in a plantation drive in the Eidgah area under the ongoing mission to build a cleaner, greener, and healthier Jammu & Kashmir.
On the occasion Dr. Andrabi planted shade-giving and fruit-bearing saplings and called upon citizens to become active participants in protecting nature by planting more trees and nurturing them with responsibility and care.
Addressing the gathering, she said that safeguarding the environment is among the most important responsibilities of our time and that every planted tree is an investment in the future.
She emphasized that expanding green spaces will not only improve environmental quality and ecological balance but will also leave a healthier and more prosperous legacy for future generations.
“Waqf Board is committed to greaner and cleaner campuses throughout Jammu and Kashmir & we are working continuously for improving the green cover at all our sites and shrines”, said Waqf Chairperson.
Dr. Andrabi urged people, especially the youth, to transform environmental awareness into public action and contribute collectively towards making Jammu & Kashmir cleaner, greener, more beautiful, and pollution-free.
She reaffirmed that meaningful change begins with collective effort and every citizen has a vital role in preserving the natural heritage of Jammu & Kashmir. (JKNS)
