Reasi, July 3 (JKNS): An unidentified male body was recovered from the Chenab River near the NHPC Salal Dam in Reasi district on Friday, officials said.
Officials told news agency JKNS, the body was retrieved from the river during a joint operation by the Talwara Police and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), with assistance from the authorities at Salal Dam.
A team from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) also visited the spot and examined the scene as part of the investigation.
The body has been shifted to the District Hospital Reasi for medico-legal formalities and identification.
Police have initiated an investigation into the matter, while further details are awaited. (JKNS)
