Srinagar, July 13 (JKNS): At least ten Amarnath Yatra pilgrims were injured after a multi-vehicle collision involving two SRTC buses, a car and a private bus in the Pahalgam-bound convoy at Langar Point in Chanderkote area of Ramban district on Monday, officials said.
Officials told news agency JKNS that the accident occurred when an SRTC bus collided with another SRTC bus travelling in the convoy. The second bus then rammed into a car, which subsequently hit a private bus, resulting in injuries to ten pilgrims.
All the injured pilgrims, hailing from different parts of Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Punjab, were immediately shifted to District Hospital Ramban for medical treatment.
Officials said the condition of the injured is being monitored, while the cause of the accident is being ascertained.
Meanwhile, police and other agencies reached the spot and regulated traffic to ensure smooth movement of the Yatra convoy.
Meanwhile, cognizance of the incident has been taken up and further investigation initiated. (JKNS)
