The theme “Awam and Jawan” reflects the enduring partnership between the Armed Forces and the citizens of India. This bond is strengthened through initiatives that promote welfare, mutual trust and national integration. Organising a Medical Camp and an Ex-Servicemen (ESM) Rally under this theme demonstrates the Indian Army’s unwavering commitment to the well-being of the people and its veterans. This report explores the nature of this relationship, its present dynamics, challenges and potential areas for improvement.
2. ​Awam and Jawan: Strengthening Bonds Through Medical Camp and ESM Rally Events.
2.1.​The Medical Outreach Programme conducted by Indian Army at Chotali was a well planned and professionally executed civic action initiative aimed at providing essential healthcare services to the local populace. The programme witnessed active participation from villagers, including elderly citizens and children who availed medical consultation, health screening and distribution of medicines by the Army Medical team. The outreach programme effectively addressed immediate healthcare requirements of the beneficiaries and enhanced awareness regarding hygiene, sanitation, nutrition and preventive healthcare practices. The initiative demonstrated the Indian Army’s commitment towards the welfare and well being of the local population residing in remote areas. The programme served as an effective Confidence Building Measure, fostering mutual trust, goodwill and cooperation between the Army and the local community. The beneficiaries highly appreciated the timely medical assistance and expressed gratitude towards Torna Bn for its people centric approach and humanitarian efforts.

2.2.​An Ex-Servicemen Rally was successfully conducted at Chinar Nau Jawan Club, Boniyar. The rally aimed to strengthen the bond between the Indian Army and the veteran community, address the welfare related concerns of Ex-Servicemen, Veer Naris, Widows and their dependents by spreading information regarding various government and Army welfare schemes. To extend welfare facilities, address grievances and interact with Ex-Servicemen and their NOKs, reaffirming the Army’s commitment towards veteran care. The rally was well organised and performed in a systematic manner. Registration counters, reception arrangements, seating facilities and refreshment services were adequately provided. Representatives from relevant departments and welfare agencies were present to provide guidance on Documentation & Redressal Cell, Medical Sp, Banking Facilities, CSD & Non CSD Canteen, Chinar Nau Jawan Club, Boniyar set up a Chef Bakery stall and variety of bakery items incl local cuisines & Interactive Session.

3.​Overall.​The successful conduct of the Medical Camp and ESM Rally highlights the Indian Army’s unwavering commitment to humanitarian service, veterans’ welfare and inclusive development. Such efforts reinforce the spirit of Awam and Jawan, ensuring that together they continue to build a secure, healthy and prosperous nation founded on unity, resilience and shared responsibility.
