Srinagar, July 26 (JKNS): Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday paid heartfelt tributes to the martyrs of the 1999 Kargil War, remembering their supreme sacrifice in safeguarding the sovereignty and honour of the nation during Operation Vijay.
In a post on X, LG Sinha, as per news agency JKNS, said he bows to the brave soldiers who laid down their lives in defence of Maa Bharti, adding that their extraordinary courage and unmatched valour will continue to inspire generations to come.
“On Kargil Vijay Diwas, I bow to our martyrs who made the supreme sacrifice to safeguard the sovereignty and honour of Maa Bharti during Operation Vijay. The extraordinary courage of our Armed Forces will forever inspire generations to come,” the Lieutenant Governor said.
He also expressed deep respect for the families of the fallen heroes, stating that their selfless dedication and unwavering strength remain an enduring symbol of the nation’s highest pride.

India observes Kargil Vijay Diwas every year on July 26 to commemorate the victory of the Indian Armed Forces in the 1999 Kargil War and honour the courage and supreme sacrifice of the soldiers who defended the country’s territorial integrity. (JKNS)
