Karnah, July 30 (JKNS): In a significant move aimed at addressing long-pending developmental and healthcare concerns of the border constituency, Honourable MLA Karnah Javaid Ahmad Mirchal called on Honourable Chief Minister Omar Abdullah at the Civil Secretariat, Srinagar, on Thursday and discussed several pressing public issues concerning Karnah and Tangdhar.
During the meeting, the MLA strongly advocated for the construction of the Sports Stadium at Lountha, emphasizing that the project is vital for promoting sports culture and providing modern facilities to the youth of the border region.
He said that talented young sportspersons from Karnah have immense potential but continue to suffer due to the lack of adequate sports infrastructure.
The MLA also raised the long-pending demand for the upgradation of Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Tangdhar, stating that the existing healthcare infrastructure is inadequate to cater to the needs of the large population residing in the remote border areas of Karnah and Tangdhar.
He urged the Chief Minister to upgrade the hospital with advanced medical facilities, specialized departments and modern equipment to ensure quality healthcare closer to home.
Highlighting another major concern, the MLA drew the Chief Minister’s attention to the acute shortage of doctors and paramedical staff at SDH Tangdhar.
He said the shortage has adversely affected healthcare delivery, forcing patients to travel long distances for treatment.
He requested the government to immediately fill the vacant posts and strengthen the hospital by deploying sufficient medical and paramedical personnel.
The Chief Minister gave a patient hearing to the issues projected by the MLA and assured him that the genuine concerns of the people of Karnah would receive due attention.
He reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring balanced development and improving public services in remote and border areas of Jammu and Kashmir.
The meeting is being viewed as an important step towards addressing the developmental aspirations of the people of Karnah, particularly in the fields of sports infrastructure and healthcare, which have remained among the top priorities of the border constituency. ( JKNS)
