Budgam, Aug 5 (JKNS): Arbaeen-e-Imam Hussain (A.S.), observed on the 21st of Safar, was commemorated with deep devotion and reverence at Mulla Buchan in the Magam area of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district, where thousands of mourners, including men, women, and youth, gathered to pay tribute to Imam Hussain (A.S.) and the martyrs of Karbala. The programme was organized by the All Jammu & Kashmir Anjuman-e-Sharie Shian Budgam.

The spiritual gathering witnessed the participation of mourners, religious scholars, community leaders, and social representatives from different parts of the Valley. The programme commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by noha khwani, marsiya recitations, and Majalis-e-Aza. Speakers highlighted the significance of the tragedy of Karbala and the eternal message of truth, justice, sacrifice, and righteousness embodied by Imam Hussain (A.S.).

Arbaeen marks the 40th day after the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (A.S.), his family members, and loyal companions in the Battle of Karbala. On this solemn occasion, mourners remembered their unparalleled sacrifices and renewed their commitment to the values for which they stood.

A grand Zuljanah procession was also taken out, passing through the main road and several localities before culminating at Hurra Mohalla Imambara. Throughout the procession, mourners engaged in noha recitation, chest beating, and mourning rituals in remembrance of the martyrs of Karbala. The atmosphere echoed with chants of “Ya Hussain (A.S.)” as devotees expressed their grief and unwavering devotion.

Addressing the gathering, prominent religious scholar Agha Syed Mujtaba Abbas Mousavi elaborated on the historical and religious significance of Arbaeen. He stated that Arbaeen commemorates the return of the captives of Karbala from Syria and their visit to the shrine of Imam Hussain (A.S.). He emphasized the special importance of Ziyarat-e-Imam Hussain (A.S.) on this occasion and noted that millions of devotees from across the world travel to Karbala every year to pay homage to the Imam.

He further said that this year too, millions of pilgrims participated in the Arbaeen commemorations in Karbala, demonstrating their profound love and devotion for Imam Hussain (A.S.). According to him, Arbaeen is regarded as one of the largest religious gatherings in the world, bringing together people of different races, languages, and nationalities under the universal message of Imam Hussain (A.S.).

Agha Syed Mujtaba Abbas Mousavi stressed that the message of Karbala is not merely a historical event but a timeless guiding light for humanity. He said Imam Hussain (A.S.) stood firmly against oppression, tyranny, and falsehood, sacrificing his life in defense of truth, justice, human dignity, and freedom.

He added that the Majalis and processions organized across Kashmir on the occasion of Arbaeen reflect the deep love and reverence of the people for the Ahlul Bayt (A.S.). The massive participation of mourners in the Arbaeen gathering at Mulla Buchan, Magam, stands as a testament to the enduring devotion of the people towards Imam Hussain (A.S.) and their determination to keep his mission and teachings alive.

The programme concluded with special prayers for peace, prosperity, stability, and brotherhood across the world, particularly in Jammu and Kashmir. Participants prayed for the well-being of humanity and sought divine guidance to follow the noble teachings of Imam Hussain (A.S.).

The successful organization of the grand Arbaeen gathering and the participation of thousands of mourners once again highlighted the deep-rooted love of the people of Kashmir for the Ahlul Bayt (A.S.) and Imam Hussain (A.S.), whose message of sacrifice, justice, and resistance against oppression continues to inspire generations across the globe.
