Srinagar, Aug 9 (JKNS): A 16-year-old boy drowned in the River Lidder at Dar Mohalla, Chee in Anantnag, with his body later retrieved by the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) in coordination with local residents.
Officials told news agency JKNS, The deceased has been identified as Barik Bilal, son of Bilal Ahmed Sofi, a resident of Laram Ganjipora, Anantnag.
A search and rescue operation was launched after information was received regarding the drowning incident. Following strenuous efforts, the SDRF team, assisted by local residents, retrieved the body from the river.
The body was subsequently handed over to the local police for further legal formalities. (JKNS)
