Kupwara, Aug 12 (JKNS): A comprehensive medical check-up for students was organised at Army Goodwill School (AGS) Wayne, Kupwara, on August 12, as part of an initiative aimed at safeguarding the health and well-being of schoolchildren and promoting awareness about preventive healthcare.

The medical check-up focused on the early identification of potential health concerns among students and ensuring that they receive timely medical advice and guidance. During the programme, students underwent general health screening, including height and weight measurements and basic medical examinations.

The visiting medical team also interacted with the students and teaching staff, providing valuable guidance on maintaining personal hygiene, adopting healthy eating habits, ensuring proper nutrition and following a healthy lifestyle. Students were sensitised about the importance of cleanliness, regular health monitoring and developing healthy daily routines from an early age.

The interaction between the medical team, students and teachers also provided an opportunity to address basic health-related concerns and create greater awareness about preventive healthcare. The initiative underscored the importance of regular medical check-ups in schools, particularly in identifying health issues at an early stage and promoting the overall physical well-being of children.

Teachers and staff members of AGS Wayne appreciated the initiative and expressed gratitude to the Army for organising the medical check-up. They said that such programmes play an important role in promoting student welfare and creating greater awareness among children about health, hygiene and nutrition.

The initiative also highlighted the Army’s continued efforts towards supporting the welfare of local communities through various educational, healthcare and community-oriented programmes.

The medical check-up concluded with the medical team offering necessary advice and guidance to the students, reinforcing the message that regular health monitoring, balanced nutrition, personal hygiene and healthy lifestyle choices are essential for a healthy and productive future.(JKNS)
