Budgam, Aug 14 (JKNS): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday organized a grand “Har Ghar Tiranga” Rally in Khansahib area of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district to promote patriotism, national unity, and the spirit of the nationwide Har Ghar Tiranga campaign. The rally witnessed enthusiastic participation from party workers, youth, and local residents.
The rally was flagged off from Town Hall Khansahib by senior BJP leader Dr. Ali Mohammad Mir. Several party leaders and office bearers were present on the occasion, including Constituency Programme Incharge Altaf Ahmad, Constituency President Manzoor Ahmad, Parry Public Secretary Abdul Hameed Sofi, senior worker Gulzar Ahmad, Kisan Morcha Vice President Mohammad Ishaq Wani, and Kisan Morcha leader Mohammad Maqbool Dar.
Participants carried the national flag and raised slogans highlighting patriotism, national unity, and the significance of India’s Independence Day. Speakers emphasized the importance of the national flag under the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign and appealed to the public to strengthen the values of unity, brotherhood, and national integration.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Ali Mohammad Mir said that the constitutional changes introduced in Jammu and Kashmir on August 5, 2019, marked a historic turning point in the region’s history. He claimed that the abrogation of Article 370 created new opportunities for peace, development, stability, and greater integration with the national mainstream.
According to Dr. Mir, the Central Government took a historic decision by revoking Article 370, which accelerated developmental activities and strengthened stability across the Union Territory. He asserted that Jammu and Kashmir has largely moved beyond challenges such as terrorism, militancy, stone-pelting incidents, frequent shutdowns, and uncertainty, enabling people to live in a more peaceful environment.
He stated that Kashmir had endured decades of hardships and sacrifices, but significant improvements have been witnessed in recent years. He described the present period as a symbol of progress, peace, and national unity.
During his speech, Dr. Mir also criticized the Congress, National Conference (NC), and People’s Democratic Party (PDP), accusing them of pursuing policies that, according to him, failed to address the long-term aspirations and development needs of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Dr. Mir further said that Pakistan’s interference had adversely affected the situation in Jammu and Kashmir for many years and contributed to instability in the region. He claimed that substantial changes had taken place after 2019, paving the way for a new era of peace, stability, and development.
Referring to Pakistan-administered Kashmir, he said that people there had been facing injustice and deprivation for years and that their concerns and rights deserved attention. He remarked that the Kashmir issue still required serious efforts to ensure lasting peace and stability in the region.
The BJP leader also paid tribute to the country’s armed forces, saying that soldiers continue to safeguard the nation’s borders with dedication and sacrifice. He urged the youth to actively contribute to nation-building and strengthen the spirit of patriotism.
He emphasized that programmes such as the Tiranga Rally play an important role in creating national awareness among young people, promoting social harmony, and reinforcing respect for the national flag. He appealed to citizens to celebrate Independence Day and the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign with enthusiasm by hoisting the national flag and spreading the message of unity and brotherhood in every household.
At the conclusion of the rally, participants reaffirmed their commitment to the nation’s integrity, unity, peace, development, and prosperity. Speakers stressed that the vision of a strong, peaceful, and united India could be achieved only through collective efforts and by placing national interest above all else. (JKNS)
