Srinagar, Aug 14 (JKNS): Kashmiri legal scholar Professor (Dr.) Wasiq Abass Dar has been selected to serve as Visiting Faculty at the prestigious Centre for Transnational Legal Studies (CTLS), London, hosted by King’s College London, for the Autumn/Fall 2026 semester.

Prof. Dar will teach courses on International Investment Law and International Commercial Arbitration at CTLS, an internationally recognised centre for the study of transnational legal issues. His selection followed a competitive two-stage process involving an initial screening of candidates and interactive interviews before a specialised selection panel.
Prof. Dar is currently serving as Associate Professor and Associate Dean at Jindal Global Law School (JGLS), India.

He is recognised for his academic and professional work in the field of international dispute resolution, with particular expertise in international commercial arbitration, investment treaty arbitration and contract law.

He has previously held visiting academic appointments at Cornell Law School, New York, and King’s College London. In addition to his academic work, he has extensive practical experience in international arbitration and has assisted arbitral tribunals in high-value commercial disputes. His scholarly work has been widely published in the fields of international commercial law and dispute resolution.

Adding to his growing international academic engagements, Prof. Dar has also been invited as a speaker at the 2026 Brunel Summer Programme on International Arbitration, organised by Brunel Law School, Brunel University London, in September this year. He will share the platform with leading international experts in the field of international arbitration.

Prof. Dar’s selection at CTLS, along with his forthcoming engagement at Brunel University London, represents another significant international academic recognition for a scholar from Kashmir and highlights the growing global presence of Kashmiri academics in specialised fields of legal scholarship.
