Deputy Commissioner Budgam Reviews Arrangements for Eid-ul-Milad-un-Nabi (S.A.W.)

Budgam, August 20: Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Athar Aamir Khan, today chaired a meeting to review and finalize arrangements for the smooth and peaceful observance of Eid-ul-Milad-un-Nabi (S.A.W.) across the district.

The meeting reviewed preparations at major shrines, mosques and other religious places where congregational gatherings and celebrations are scheduled to be held. Detailed discussions were held on security, traffic management, road connectivity, drinking water, healthcare, power supply, sanitation, cleanliness and other essential facilities.

The Deputy Commissioner directed all concerned departments to put adequate arrangements in place well in advance to ensure that devotees and the general public do not face any inconvenience during the celebrations.

The Health Department was directed to deploy medical teams and ambulances and ensure the availability of essential medicines at identified locations. The Power Development Department was asked to ensure uninterrupted power supply and keep necessary backup arrangements ready.

The R&B authorities were directed to ensure that roads leading to shrines and congregation points remain in good condition and undertake necessary repairs wherever required. Similarly, the Jal Shakti Department was asked to ensure adequate and uninterrupted drinking water supply at all identified venues.

Emphasizing cleanliness and sanitation, the Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned departments to ensure proper sanitation and waste management around shrines, mosques and other congregation points, with cleanliness maintained before, during and after the celebrations.

Reviewing traffic arrangements, the Deputy Commissioner directed the ARTO and Traffic Police to formulate an effective traffic management plan, regulate vehicular movement and facilitate the smooth movement of devotees, particularly at locations expected to witness large gatherings.

The Deputy Commissioner stressed the importance of close coordination among all departments and directed officials to ensure prompt response to any requirement during the celebrations. He further called upon all stakeholders to work in close coordination for the convenience, safety and welfare of devotees.

The meeting was attended by ADDC Budgam Vivek Agarwal; ADC Budgam Mehraj-ud-Din Shah; SE R&B Budgam; ACD Budgam; CMO Budgam; Executive Engineers of Jal Shakti and PDD; EOs of MC Magam and Charar-i-Sharief; and representatives of Waqf Ziyarat Sharief, Charar-i-Sharief, Pakherpora and Peth Makhama.
