Srinagar, Aug 21 (JKNS): The Jammu and Kashmir Government has nominated Shreya Singhal, IAS (AGMUT:2020), Director Information, J&K, as the Festival Director for the first International Film Festival of Jammu & Kashmir (IFFJK)-2026, scheduled to be held from September 7 to 10, 2026.

The nomination was approved through Government Order No. 1434-JK(GAD) of 2026, issued by the General Administration Department on August 21, a copy of which lies with news agency JKNS, with the officer entrusted with overall coordination and facilitation of the four-day festival.

The main venue for the festival will be the Sher-i-Kashmir International Convention Centre (SKICC), Srinagar, while side events will be organised in Jammu and Gulmarg.

As Festival Director, Singhal will coordinate with all concerned stakeholders, Government departments, agencies and divisional administrations to ensure smooth and successful conduct of the festival.

The order states that she will coordinate with the Offices of the Divisional Commissioners, Kashmir and Jammu, as well as designated Nodal Officers of concerned departments and agencies, besides other stakeholders as required.

All concerned departments, agencies, divisional administrations and Nodal Officers have been directed to extend necessary cooperation and support to the Festival Director and ensure timely action on festival-related matters within their respective jurisdictions.

The Festival Director will also keep the Administrative Department apprised of preparations, inter-departmental coordination and issues requiring intervention for the successful organisation of the event.

The order further authorises the Festival Director to convene coordination meetings with concerned departments and agencies, wherever necessary, and issue operational directions required for effective implementation of festival-related arrangements.

The order has been issued by M. Raju, IAS, Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, General Administration Department. (JKNS)
