Srinagar, Aug 23 (JKNS): A 12-year-old boy drowned in Nallah Sindh at Fatehpora area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Sunday, prompting authorities and locals to launch a search and rescue operation.
Reports reaching news agency JKNS stated that, the boy has been identified as Mohsin Mukhtar, son of Mukhtar Ahmad Lone, a resident of Bamloora, Ganderbal.
The boy had gone to Nallah Sindh to take a bath when he drowned in the water body.
Locals who witnessed the incident immediately informed the police, following which a joint search and rescue operation was launched to trace the boy.
Further details regarding the circumstances of the incident are awaited, while police have initiated necessary proceedings. (JKNS)
