Maulvi Imran Raza Ansari expresses gratitude to administration, police, public and volunteers for successful conduct of grand procession
Srinagar, August 30: The All Jammu and Kashmir Shia Association, under the banner of Maarif Uloom Islami Jammu & Kashmir, organised a grand Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi ﷺ procession in the Zadibal area of Srinagar to commemorate the blessed birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad Mustafa ﷺ and celebrate Jashn-e-Sadiqain.
Thousands of devotees from different parts of Kashmir, including religious scholars, Zakireen, students, teachers, representatives of Maktabs and Madrasas, and workers of the Association participated in the grand procession.
The procession commenced from Imamia Park, Doonipora, and proceeded through Hawal before culminating at Imam Bargah Zadibal. Throughout the procession, participants engaged in Naat recitation, Durood-o-Salam and expressions of love and devotion to the Holy Prophet ﷺ. The gathering witnessed an atmosphere of religious fervour and spiritual devotion.
Addressing the gathering, speakers said that Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi ﷺ is not merely an occasion to express joy and happiness, but an opportunity to understand and implement the teachings and exemplary life of the Holy Prophet ﷺ, promote unity and brotherhood among Muslims, and connect the younger generation with the Holy Quran and Seerat-un-Nabi ﷺ.
Islamic scholar Sheikh Muhammad Hassan Zakiri said that the life of Prophet Muhammad Mustafa ﷺ represents a comprehensive message of mercy, love, justice, knowledge, tolerance, brotherhood and service to humanity. He said the Prophet ﷺ taught humanity to fulfil the rights of others, care for the weak, exercise patience and resolve differences through wisdom, compassion and mutual understanding.
He stressed that the need to spread the message of Seerat-un-Nabi ﷺ has become more important than ever in the present era. He particularly emphasised the need to protect young people from drug abuse, despair, moral degradation and other social evils by connecting them with the Holy Quran, the Seerat of the Prophet ﷺ, Islamic values and positive thinking.
The speakers also highlighted the significance of the Week of Unity, saying that its observance from 12th to 17th Rabi-ul-Awwal aims to promote unity, brotherhood and mutual respect among Muslims. They called upon followers of different schools of thought to build upon their shared values and love for the Holy Prophet ﷺ and contribute towards strengthening the broader unity of the Muslim Ummah.
The speakers also underlined the responsibilities of parents in character-building. They said parents play a fundamental role in shaping the personality of children and should themselves become role models through their conduct and actions. Children, they said, should be encouraged to develop the habit of prayer, recitation of the Quran, good manners, respect for humanity, patience and tolerance.
They observed that religious Maktabs and Madrasas are playing an important role in imparting basic religious education to children; however, effective cooperation between the family, educational institutions and society is essential for the comprehensive development and moral upbringing of the younger generation.
At M.K. Chowk, Hawal, Sheikh Muhammad Hassan Zakiri and spokesperson of the All Jammu and Kashmir Shia Association, Maulvi Syed Tayyab Rizvi, addressed the participants and spoke at length about the Week of Unity, the blessed birth of the Holy Prophet ﷺ, Seerat-un-Nabi ﷺ and Muslim unity.
They said that the life and teachings of the Holy Prophet ﷺ convey a universal message of peace, mercy, justice, brotherhood and unity. They urged Muslims to strengthen unity within their ranks in the light of the teachings of the Holy Prophet ﷺ and Ahl-e-Bait (AS).
Students, teachers, inspectors, religious scholars, Zakireen and workers associated with various Maktabs and Madrasas affiliated with the All Jammu and Kashmir Shia Association from across Kashmir participated in the procession. Students also presented Naat recitations in praise of the Holy Prophet ﷺ.
The procession culminated at Imam Bargah Zadibal, where a special Mehfil-e-Milad was organised. Speakers elaborated on the Seerat-un-Nabi ﷺ, the noble character and teachings of the Holy Prophet ﷺ, and the importance of unity among the Muslim Ummah.
On the occasion, President of the All Jammu and Kashmir Shia Association, Maulvi Imran Raza Ansari, expressed gratitude to the Srinagar district administration, police, traffic police, Srinagar Municipal Corporation, Health Department, KPDCL, Jal Shakti Department and other concerned departments for their cooperation in ensuring the successful and peaceful conduct of the grand procession.
He specifically appreciated the cooperation extended by Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Akshay Labroo, ADC Dr Farid, CPO Fayyaz Ahmad, SSP Srinagar Dr G.V. Sandeep Chakravarthy, SDPO Zadibal Rashid Akbar, SHO Zadibal Suhail, SP Traffic Zaheer, Commissioner SMC Fazal-ul-Haseeb, JC Syed Abul Hassan, CMO Srinagar Dr Tahir, ZMO Zadibal Dr Rubina, Executive Engineer Division Syed Nisar and other concerned officers and officials.
Maulvi Imran Raza Ansari said that excellent coordination between the district administration and various field departments ensured the smooth and peaceful movement of such a large gathering. He appreciated the efforts made in sanitation, traffic management, medical facilities and other civic arrangements.
He also expressed special gratitude to the residents of Doonipora, Gazi Dori and Zadibal for making arrangements for devotees at different locations and extending hospitality and cooperation. He also appreciated the dedicated services of volunteers at Imam Bargah Zadibal, who worked tirelessly before and during the programme.
The event concluded with a special prayer for lasting unity, harmony, love and brotherhood among the Muslim Ummah. Prayers were also offered for the younger generation to be guided towards the teachings of the Holy Quran and the Seerat of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, and for the eradication of drug abuse, despair, moral degradation and other social and ethical evils from society.
