Bandipora, Sept 10 (JKNS): A 13-year-old boy drowned in Nallah Madumati in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Thursday while attempting to retrieve a ball, officials said.
According to news agency JKNS, the deceased was a resident of Ganaie Mohalla, Kaloosa.
Officials said the boy slipped into the stream near Kaloosa Bridge while trying to recover the ball and was swept away by the strong current.
Following the incident, a rescue operation was launched by teams of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and Jammu and Kashmir Police to trace the boy.
