Pattan, September 9 : Employees associated with the National Health Mission (NHM) held a peaceful protest at CHC Hospital Pattan on Wednesday in support of their demands. The protest was part of the ongoing 72-hour strike being observed by NHM employees across Jammu and Kashmir.

During the protest, the employees highlighted their demands related to pay revision, job security and social security benefits. They said that they have been rendering their services for years, but continue to face uncertainty regarding their employment and financial future.

The protesting employees demanded that the pay structure of NHM employees in Jammu and Kashmir be revised and salaries increased appropriately on the lines of NHM employees working in other states. They also called for the implementation of a comprehensive and secure job policy for NHM employees.

The employees further demanded social security benefits, including EPF, ESI, insurance coverage and financial support after retirement. They said that employees who have served in the health sector for years deserve adequate protection and financial security for their future.

The protesting employees appealed to the authorities not to limit their demands to assurances, but to take concrete steps for their resolution.

They expressed hope that the government and concerned authorities would seriously consider their genuine demands and resolve the issue at the earliest, ensuring job security, better financial benefits and social security for NHM employees.
