Sopore, September 30, 2026: As part of the JK4C Cyber Awareness Programme, Sopore Police today organised a Cyber Awareness Programme at Government Women’s College, Sopore, aimed at sensitising students about emerging cyber threats and safe online practices.
More than 300 students and faculty members participated in the programme. Prof. Zubair Masoodi, IT Professor & Nodal Officer, I4C, and Insp. Imtiyaz Ahmad, SHO Cyber Police Station Sopore, delivered detailed sessions on emerging trends in cybercrime and preventive measures.
Participants were sensitised about cybercrimes targeting women, online financial frauds, job scams, digital arrest scams, fraudulent loan and dating apps, OTP-related frauds and malicious links. They were also briefed about cybercrime reporting mechanisms and the importance of prompt reporting and immediate response in cases of online fraud.
The programme concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, during which queries raised by students were addressed.
Sopore Police will continue to organise such awareness programmes to promote cyber safety, responsible use of digital platforms and greater awareness about emerging online threats, particularly among students and youth.
