Anantnag, Oct 06 (JKNS): The 18th Battalion of the CRPF emerged victorious in the Inter-Battalion Tug of War Competition-2026, defeating the 46th Battalion 2-0 in the final at Anantnag.
Teams from 18th, 40th, 46th, 90th, 96th, 116th, 163rd and 164th Battalions participated in the competition. All teams displayed excellent physical strength, team spirit, mutual coordination and strong determination.
The final match of the competition was played between the 18th Battalion and the 46th Battalion. In a thrilling contest, the team of the 18th Battalion gave a stellar performance and defeated the 46th Battalion by 2-0 to clinch the championship title.
At the closing ceremony, the Chief Guest, Shri Ashish Bharti, IPS, DIG Ops, Range Anantnag, presented medals and trophies to the winning and runner-up teams and congratulated all participants for their outstanding performance. He said that Tug of War is not just a game of physical strength, but a symbol of discipline, teamwork, mutual trust and collective effort.
On this occasion, Shri Mukund Mohan, Commandant, 164th Bn; Shri Narendra Kumar Singh, Second-in-Command, 164th Bn; Shri Santosh Pal, 2-I/C, 46th Bn; Shri Jatin Kishore, Commandant, 96th Bn; Shri Shivam Jaggi, SDPO, Achabal; Shri Sahil Muzaffar, Sports Organiser, Nidha School; and Shri Md. Yusuf, Principal, Govt. Boys Senior Secondary School, Brakpora, along with CRPF officers and jawans, representatives of police and local administration, school staff, media representatives and a large number of local citizens were present.
The cooperation and enthusiastic participation of the school management and the local community further enhanced the dignity of the event. The competition further strengthened mutual trust, brotherhood and harmony between the CRPF and the local community.
The competition not only promoted healthy competition, discipline and team spirit among the jawans, but also gave a message of unity, community participation and sportsmanship. (JKNS)
