Kashmir Advocates Association Welcomes Newly Appointed Principal District & Sessions Judge Srinagar, Shri Naseer Ahmad Dar

Srinagar, October 7, 2026: A delegation of the Kashmir Advocates Association (KAA) today called on the newly appointed Principal District and Sessions Judge (PDJ), Srinagar, Shri Naseer Ahmad Dar, at his office chambers in the District Court Complex, Srinagar, and extended a warm and formal welcome on his assumption of office as the head of the district judiciary.

The delegation was led by the President of the Kashmir Advocates Association, Advocate Waseem Gul. The members of the Association conveyed their best wishes and assured the new Principal District and Sessions Judge of the full cooperation and support of the Bar in the effective administration of justice and the smooth functioning of the courts in Srinagar district.

During the interaction held in the chambers of the Principal District and Sessions Judge, the President and members of the KAA felicitated Shri Naseer Ahmad Dar on taking charge of this important judicial office. They expressed confidence that under his leadership, the district judiciary would continue to uphold the highest standards of justice, efficiency, and accessibility for the litigant public.

Advocate Waseem Gul, on behalf of the Association, highlighted the commitment of the Kashmir Advocates Association to work in close coordination with the judiciary for the welfare of the legal fraternity and the betterment of the justice delivery system. The Association also discussed matters of mutual interest pertaining to the functioning of the courts and the concerns of the advocates practising in the district.

Shri Naseer Ahmad Dar, who was recently transferred and posted as Principal District and Sessions Judge, Srinagar, by the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh (having earlier served as Director of the J&K Judicial Academy), reciprocated the goodwill of the Bar. He appreciated the gesture of the Kashmir Advocates Association and expressed his readiness to work in a spirit of cooperation with the legal fraternity for the better administration of justice.

The visit of the KAA delegation marks a positive beginning to the tenure of the new Principal District and Sessions Judge and underscores the healthy and collaborative relationship between the Bar and the Bench in Srinagar.
