Poonch, Oct 19 (JKNS): A 45-year-old man was killed and four others injured after a landslide struck a road construction site at Agan Pathri village in the Sawajian area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district on Monday, officials said.
An official told the news agency JKNS that the incident occurred when workers were engaged in a road construction project in the area.
He said the deceased was struck by a stone and died on the spot, while four other persons sustained injuries in the incident.
The deceased has been identified as Mohammad Bashir (45), son of Ali Mohammad, a resident of Danna Gagrian in Sawajian.
Meanwhile, officials have taken cognisance of the incident, and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding it is underway. (JKNS)
