Srinagar, Oct 21 (JKNS): The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has withdrawn the requirement for candidates to secure at least 20 per cent marks in a subject to apply for re-evaluation of their answer scripts.
According to a notification issued by the Board’s Academic Division on Wednesday, a copy of which lies with news agency JKNS stated that, the decision partially modifies an earlier notification dated May 29, 2006, which restricted re-evaluation to subjects in which candidates had secured 20 per cent or more of the total marks.
With the revised provision, candidates can apply for re-evaluation of their answer scripts regardless of the marks obtained in the concerned subject, subject to the prescribed procedure, application timeline and fee.
The decision applies to the Secondary School Examination (Class 10), Higher Secondary Examination Part I (Class 11), Higher Secondary Examination Part II (Class 12), Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) and Jammu and Kashmir State Open School examinations for Classes 10 and 12.
The Board clarified that all other terms and conditions governing the re-evaluation process, as notified from time to time, will remain unchanged.
The notification, issued by Director Academics Dr Parveen Singh, will have prospective effect. (JKNS)
