Srinagar, Oct 22 (JKNS): Residents of Dalgate-Buchwara have expressed gratitude to National Conference MLA Ali Mohammad Sagar for addressing prolonged power-supply issues in the area, stating that the provision of a 24×7 electricity feeder has brought relief to the locality after months of load shedding.

Speaking to news agency JKNS, Sarwar, In-charge of National Conference Ward 4, said the issue was raised during a public darbar organised by Sagar, following which the matter was taken up with the concerned authorities and Feeder-II was approved to provide round-the-clock electricity.

He said the area was also witnessing progress on several other developmental projects, including water supply infrastructure, education, healthcare facilities and improvement of lanes and drains.

Sarwar said Rs 1.69 crore had been approved for an additional water storage tank with a capacity of 2.10 lakh gallons, aimed at improving water supply for around 10,000 to 12,000 people. The project is expected to be completed by 2027.

He further said a government school was being developed as a model school at an estimated cost of Rs 3.69 crore, while plans were underway to upgrade healthcare facilities, including the provision of ECG, X-ray and ambulance services, for which Rs 1 crore had been earmarked.

Highlighting other works, he said projects had also been taken up for Umar Masjid and the improvement of local lanes and drains, while efforts were underway to upgrade a municipal laboratory block that had reportedly remained closed for around 35 years.

Residents, including Sharafat Hussain, president of Umar Masjid, welcomed the improved electricity supply and ongoing developmental works, saying several issues had remained pending for years.

They expressed hope that the approved projects would be completed within the stipulated timelines and provide further relief to the people of the area. (JKNS)
