Jammu, Oct 26 (JKNS): Around 40 shops were gutted in a massive fire that broke out at Shiv Market near Jammu Tawi Railway Station late Sunday night.
Officials told news agency JKNS that the fire broke out at Shiv Market, opposite Jammu Railway Station, and quickly spread, engulfing several shops in the market.
Soon after the incident, fire tenders were rushed to the spot, while J&K Police personnel and locals joined the firefighting efforts to bring the blaze under control.
According to initial reports, around 40 shops were gutted in the incident. However, no loss of life or injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is being ascertained, while police have taken cognizance of the matter. (JKNS)
