Srinagar, Oct 28 (JKNS): Minister for Education Sakina Itoo on Wednesday said the Omar Abdullah-led government had brought things back on track over the past two years, asserting that its commitments had been fulfilled to a considerable extent and that pending tasks would be completed in the coming years.
Speaking to reporters in Srinagar, as per news agency JKNS, Itoo said the government had made considerable progress during its two-year tenure and remained committed to fulfilling its promises.
“In these two years, we have brought everything on track, and our commitments have been fulfilled to a great extent. God willing, the pending tasks will be completed in two and a half to three years,” she said.
On the inauguration of an administrative block at a college, the minister said the project had remained pending for a long time due to a shortage of funds. She said the Omar Abdullah-led government released the pending funds, enabling the completion of the project.
Itoo said the new administrative block would benefit students by providing better facilities and making their academic activities more convenient.
She said the government aimed to ensure that students in both higher and school education had access to adequate facilities and did not face difficulties in pursuing their studies.
Reacting to reports of discontent among some National Conference legislators following the recent Cabinet expansion, Itoo said differences within the party should not be a cause for concern.
Comparing the party to a family, she said it was not possible to accommodate everyone at the same time and that members had the right to express their displeasure.
“This is our NC family. All of us are members of this family. If someone is upset, they can express it. There is nothing to worry about,” she said.(JKNS)
