Ganderbal: On the directions of Mission Director, JKRLM, Dr Shubhra Sharma, awareness programmes on communicable and non-communicable diseases were organised today at Block Mission Management Unit (BMMU) Wakura and at CD Block Safapora.
The programme aimed to utilise JKRLM’s extensive institutional outreach and community network as a key platform for strengthening health awareness among rural communities and promoting informed health practices.
At BMMU Wakura, Dr Misbah Qureshi from PHC Zazna delivered an informative and engaging awareness session on communicable and non-communicable diseases. Through a clear and comprehensive explanation, she effectively sensitised participants about the causes, symptoms and preventive measures associated with these diseases, while emphasising the significance of early detection, timely diagnosis and appropriate healthcare practices.
Speaking on the occasion, Madina Bukhari, Block Programme Manager JKRLM Wakura termed the programme informative and useful, emphasising that its learnings shall reach every SHG member through the network of social capital of the block. She further stated that, in line with the directions of the Mission Director, similar awareness programmes would be organised across all Cluster Level Federations at the block level.
At CD Block Safapora similar program was held in collaboration with Nokia Smartpur Centre, implemented by REACHA Foundation.
