Tral, Nov 2 (JKNS): Chairperson of the Jammu & Kashmir Waqf Board, Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi, today visited the historic Khanqah-e-Faiz Panah at Tral, where she laid the foundation stone for various developmental works, including a modern Wudhu Complex and a Conference Hall. During the visit Waqf Chairperson was accompanied by the Waqf Board Members Mohammad Hussain Haqqani and Dr Gh. Nabi Haleem and Altaf Thakur, UT Spokesperson of BJP.
Andrabi took stock of the ongoing and proposed developmental initiatives aimed at improving facilities for devotees and visitors while preserving the historical, religious and spiritual significance of the shrine. She emphasised that the Waqf Board remains committed to the comprehensive development of religious institutions and the preservation of Kashmir’s rich spiritual and cultural heritage.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Andrabi said that the development of shrines and religious institutions is an important part of the Board’s mission. She said that modern facilities, improved infrastructure and preservation of historical heritage must go hand in hand to ensure that these sacred places continue to serve society and future generations.
She reiterated that the Board would continue its efforts to transform Waqf-managed religious institutions into well-maintained centres of spirituality, faith and community engagement.
The programme was attended by Special Officer of the Board Dr Bashir Ahmad (JKAS); Executive Magistrate and Tehsildar, Ishtiyaq Mohiuddin (JKAS); Executive Engineer Er. Qazi Mushtaq, besides other dignitaries, officials and members of the local community. The visit marked another significant step towards strengthening infrastructure and preserving the historical and spiritual legacy of the Khanqah-e-Faiz Panah. (JKNS)
