Srinagar, Apr 22 (JKNS): Australia’s High Commissioner to India Philip Green on Tuesday paid tributes to the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack, joining India in remembering the innocent lives lost on the first anniversary of the tragedy.
In a post on X, as per news agency JKNS, Philip Green said, “One year on, we join our Indian friends & colleagues to remember the innocent lives lost in the horrific terrorist attack in #Pahalgam.”
“We honour the victims & their families who continue to grieve today. Australia stands against terrorism in all its forms,” Philip said.
The statement comes on the first anniversary of the April 22, 2025 terror attack in Baisaran, Pahalgam, where terrorists targeted tourists, killing 26 people, including 25 tourists and one pony ride operator.
Following the attack, India carried out retaliatory strikes on terror launch pads across the border on May 7 under “Operation Sindoor,” which continued for three days. The operation was later followed by a ceasefire announcement on May 11 at 5 PM. (JKNS)
