Kupwara, Apr 22 (JKNS): In a powerful show of unity and resilience, residents of Tangdhar in Karnah came together to condemn the 2025 Pahalgam terror attack, sending a strong message against violence and reaffirming their commitment to peace.
More than 2,000 students, along with teachers, civil society members, ex-servicemen, civil administration, and local residents, participated in large-scale peaceful rallies held across Karnah.
From AGS Hajinar to GDC Kandi and AGS Tithwal, the region witnessed an overwhelming response, with youth and community members standing shoulder to shoulder for a common cause.
Carrying the national flag and placards, participants marched through key areas, raising slogans like “Say No to Terrorism” and “We Want Peace.”
The rallies reflected a united stand against terrorism while promoting communal harmony, national unity, and resilience.
The event served as a tribute to the victims of the Pahalgam attack and highlighted the collective resolve of the people of Karnah to uphold peace and brotherhood. Speakers emphasized the importance of unity, especially during challenging times, and called for strengthening social cohesion.
A significant segment of the rally was dedicated to acknowledging the swift and effective response of the Indian Army during Operation Sindoor. Participants appreciated the courage, vigilance, and professionalism of the armed forces in ensuring the safety of civilians in sensitive border areas.
Special emphasis was laid on the role of youth, with local administration encouraging positive engagement, while teachers and educators highlighted the importance of education in fostering tolerance, awareness, and national integration.
The rally concluded with a moment of silence in memory of the victims, followed by a collective pledge to reject violence and work towards a safer, more peaceful future.
