Srinagar, Apr 22 (JKNS): The District Administration Anantnag has issued a public notice regarding the conduct of a Civil Defence Air Raid Blackout Mock Exercise across the district on April 23, 2026.

According to the notice issued by District Magistrate Anantnag, Dr. Bilal Mohiuddin Bhat, as per news agency JKNS, the mock drill will be held at 3:30 PM, followed by a blackout exercise from 08:00 PM to 08:10 PM as part of emergency preparedness and safety training.

The exercise aims to familiarize citizens with emergency response protocols during blackout or crisis situations and assess the readiness of both the public and administration.

The administration has advised the public to strictly follow instructions during the exercise, including switching off all lights and sources of illumination immediately after the siren, covering windows to prevent light emission, and avoiding panic as it is only a mock drill.

Authorities further stated that all emergency and essential services will remain functional during the drill and urged citizens to cooperate for the successful conduct of the exercise. — (JKNS)
