Sopore, Apr 23 (JKNS): Continuing its sustained crackdown under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan, Sopore Police on Thursday apprehended a drug peddler during naka checking in Hygam area and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
As per news agency JKNS, Under the ongoing 100-day Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan, Sopore Police have apprehended a drug peddler during naka checking under the jurisdiction of Police Post Putkha.
During naka checking in Hygam, a suspicious individual was intercepted and apprehended. Upon personal search, contraband charas-like substance was recovered and seized as per due procedure.
The accused has been identified as Farhad Yousef Mir, S/O Mohammad Yousef Mir, R/O Hygam.
Accordingly, FIR No. 62/2026 under Section 8/20 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Tarzoo and further investigation is underway to ascertain the source and wider linkages involved.
Sopore Police reiterated that strict enforcement under the anti-drug drive continues across the district to dismantle drug networks and protect society from the menace of drugs.
