Srinagar, Apr 23 (JKNS): Member parliament Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi on Thursday raised questions over the delay in addressing the reservation issue, urging the Jammu and Kashmir administration to either act on the file sent to Raj Bhavan or acknowledge lack of progress.
Speaking to reporters as per news agency JKNS, the Srinagar Member of Parliament said the government had earlier stated that the file had been forwarded to the Lieutenant Governor’s office, but no further update has been shared so far.
He questioned the timeline for a decision, asking when the Lt Governor’s secretariat would return the file and take up the matter concerning students awaiting clarity.
Taking a dig at the administration, the MP said merely forwarding the file was not sufficient, adding that the government must clearly state its position instead of delaying the issue.
Meanwhile, dismissing reports about launching a new political party, Ruhullah said he was unaware of any such development and termed the speculation baseless. (JKNS)
