Legal Literacy Drive Held at Karnah School to Promote Child-Friendly Justice System

Karnah, Apr 27 (JKNS): A legal awareness programme on the Child-Friendly Scheme 2024 was organised at Orient Public School Khawarpara in Karnah, aiming to educate students about their rights, legal protections, and the importance of a safe and respectful educational environment.

As per news agency JKNS, Orient Public School Khawarpara Karnah organized a meaningful Legal Awareness Programme on Child-Friendly Scheme 2024 ,Promoting Child-Friendly Legal Services in collaboration with Tehsil Legal Services Committee Tangdar.

 

The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from a large number of students, teachers, and staff members. On the occasion, Advocate Waqar Ahmed along with other dignitaries and court staff attended the event.

 

During his address, Advocate Waqar Ahmed sensitized the students about their legal rights and protections guaranteed to children. He highlighted that every child has the right to education, dignity, safety, and protection from abuse.

 

He also emphasized that ragging in schools is a punishable offence, while beating, harassing, humiliating, or mentally torturing students is also a crime under the law. He urged students to speak up against injustice and seek help whenever needed.

 

The teachers of Orient Public School Khawarpara Karnah also played a commendable role in making the programme successful and delivered informative speeches on child rights, moral values, and the importance of a safe educational environment.

 

Students including Rooppreet Kour, Avneet Kour, Suhana Shakoor, and Suhaib Sadeeq delivered impressive speeches on the topic of child rights with great confidence and clarity. Their remarkable performances highly impressed the visiting court officials, who praised and encouraged both the students and the school management.

 

At the conclusion of the programme, Raja Waqar, Principal of the school, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the respected court staff and the Chairman of Tehsil Legal Services Committee Tangdar for selecting their institution to host such an important awareness programme. He also appreciated the dedicated efforts of teachers, staff members, and students for ensuring the grand success of the event.

 

The programme concluded with a strong message that schools must remain safe, respectful, and child-friendly spaces where every student can learn and grow without fear.(JKNS)
