Srinagar, Apr 28 (JKNS): In a major escalation of its anti-drug drive, Anantnag Police on Monday launched coordinated Narco CASOs across 20 identified hotspot locations in the district, officials said.
As per details available with news agency JKNS, police teams are conducting raids at the residences of suspected drug kingpins with the assistance of K9 units to trace narcotics, recover contraband and dismantle supply networks.
Officials said a systematic survey of illegal properties linked to drug peddlers is also underway, which will be processed for attachment under the provisions of the NDPS Act.
The operation is being carried out under the supervision of SSP Anantnag Amod Ashok Nagpure as part of the intensified campaign against drug trafficking under #DrugFreeAnantnag.
Police said the drive aims to strike at both the financial and operational backbone of the narcotics network in the district, with further action expected in the coming days. (JKNS)
