Karnah, May 15 (JKNS): Iqra Model Public School Kandi Karnah on Friday organized the Students Council Elections 2026 with great enthusiasm and active participation from students.
The elections were conducted under the rules and regulations of the Election Commission of IMPSKK to create awareness among students about the democratic process and the importance of voting and leadership.
A total of 11 candidates contested the elections for various positions in the student council. To ensure a smooth and fair voting process, the school administration established two separate polling booths, a specially designed Pink Booth for girls and another booth for boys. The initiative attracted significant interest among students and created an atmosphere similar to real democratic elections.
More than 200 students participated in the voting process and cast their votes in favour of their preferred candidates. Students enthusiastically took part in the election activities, including voter verification, ballot casting, polling arrangements, and counting procedures. The entire process was carried out in a disciplined and transparent manner.
The election process was supervised by the Returning Officer, polling officials, and counting members, while NCC candidates were also present to assist in maintaining discipline and proper management during the polling.
Observer Raja Khushal inspected the entire election process and appreciated the arrangements made by the school administration. He stated that the elections were conducted smoothly and everything was carried out according to the prescribed rules and regulations. He also praised the concept of the Pink Booth, saying that it was an excellent step by the school to spread awareness among students regarding women-centric polling booths and inclusive participation in democratic activities.
Speaking on the occasion, student participant Hina Zafar said, “We learned a lot from this voting process and understood how representatives are selected through elections. It was a wonderful experience for all of us.”
Chairperson Musrat Bano said that such activities play an important role in shaping responsible citizens. She added, “This is a democratic process and we want our students to be aware of it from an early age. These elections help students understand leadership, responsibility, and the value of democracy.”
Teachers and staff members appreciated the students for their discipline, enthusiasm, and active participation throughout the event. The election concluded successfully with the counting of votes amid excitement and curiosity among the students.
