Pulwama, May 19 (JKNS): Continuing its intensified crackdown against drug trafficking under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan, Pulwama Police on Tuesday arrested two alleged drug peddlers in separate anti-narcotics operations and recovered heroin-like substances from their possession.

 

As oer news agency JKNS, Police achieved success in two separate anti-drug operations conducted in the district.

 

During naka checking at Nikas near Uzrampathri Bridge, a scooty bearing registration number JK13K-4520 driven by one Muzamil Ahmad Mir S/O Gh. Mohammad Mir R/O Lassipora, Pulwama was intercepted by the naka party. During his personal search, approximately 8.5 grams of heroin-like substance was recovered from his possession. Accordingly, Case FIR No. 82/2026 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Rajpora.

 

In another action carried out during naka checking at Hakripora, the naka party intercepted one person identified as Aamir Ahmad Sheikh S/O Mohammad Yousuf Sheikh R/O Tangpuna, Pulwama. During checking, approximately 5.5 grams of heroin-like substance was recovered from his possession. Accordingly, Case FIR No. 91/2026 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Pulwama.

 

Both the accused persons were arrested on the spot and the recovered contraband substances were seized. Further investigation into both cases has been taken up.

 

Pulwama Police remains committed towards curbing drug trafficking and appeals to the general public to cooperate with police by sharing any information related to drug peddling or narcotics activities in their areas. (JKNS)
