Srinagar, May 20 (JKNS): In a significant initiative aimed at promoting women empowerment and self-reliance, the 132 Battalion CRPF on Wednesday organised the closing ceremony of a month-long Stitching and Tailoring Programme for women at Marriage Hall Abi-Guzar near Masjid Ayesha, Lal Chowk Srinagar.
As per news agency JKNS, The programme was conducted under the Civic Action Programme 2025-26 under the aegis of IG CRPF Srinagar Sector with the objective of enhancing skill development and livelihood opportunities for local women.
15 women successfully completed the training programme and were awarded certificates during the concluding ceremony.
The event was attended by Commandant 132 Battalion CRPF, officers and personnel of the battalion, SP East, SDPO Kothibagh, police officials from Police Stations Kothibagh and Maisuma, members of the media, and prominent persons from the local community.
To further encourage women towards self-employment and vocational training, three sewing machines were also donated to the community hall so that more women can utilise them for training and undertake stitching work for livelihood generation.
Officials said the initiative reflects the commitment of CRPF towards community outreach, women empowerment and socio-economic upliftment through constructive engagement programmes. (JKNS)
