Srinagar, May 31 (JKNS): At least Three persons were apprehended by Army near the Line of Control (LoC) in Uri sector of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district during the intervening night of May 30 and 31 while allegedly attempting to cross into Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), sources said.
Official sources told news agency JKNS that the trio was intercepted by army personnels near Hathlanga village in Uri.
According to sources, the individuals were allegedly trying to exfiltrate towards the PoK side when they were apprehended by the Army.
All three are presently in the custody of the Army unit for preliminary questioning.
Sources said the detained individuals are likely to be handed over to Police Station Uri for further investigation and legal proceedings.
Notably, the development comes, after Army personnel apprehended a PoK national along with a local girl from Uri under circumstances that are also being investigated by security agencies.
Authorities are examining the motive behind the alleged cross-LoC movement, and further details are awaited. (JKNS)
