New Delhi, Jun 8 (JKNS): The Narendra Modi-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government is set to complete 12 years in office on Tuesday, marking a significant milestone in its governance journey while highlighting achievements in welfare delivery, economic reforms, infrastructure development and India’s growing global stature.
In a message shared on social media, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the past 12 years have witnessed transformative changes across the country, driven by the objective of ensuring welfare and dignity for the poor and marginalized sections of society.
The Prime Minister highlighted flagship initiatives such as Jan Dhan Yojana, Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), Swachh Bharat Mission, PM Awas Yojana, Jal Jeevan Mission and Ayushman Bharat, stating that each programme was aimed at extending the benefits of development to those who had remained excluded for decades.
The government said welfare delivery has expanded significantly under Modi 3.0, with technology playing a central role in ensuring transparency and efficiency. According to official claims, DBT and digital governance platforms have reduced leakages, strengthened accountability and enhanced trust in public institutions.
The NDA secured 293 seats in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, with the BJP winning 240 seats, securing a third consecutive term in office. The government described the mandate as an endorsement of stable governance, economic growth and infrastructure-led development.
Highlighting economic achievements, the Centre said India has maintained a steady growth trajectory despite global uncertainties and has emerged stronger from the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Major reforms including the Goods and Services Tax (GST), Digital India, Make in India and expanded financial inclusion through Jan Dhan accounts were cited as key milestones.
The government also pointed to increased global engagement under Modi’s leadership, including strengthened trade relations and ongoing negotiations with countries and blocs such as the United States, European Union, Canada, Australia, UAE and Oman.
On national security, the Centre reiterated its policy of zero tolerance towards terrorism, referring to military operations including the 2016 surgical strikes, the 2019 Balakot airstrikes and Operation Sindoor in 2025 as examples of its firm response to security threats.
The government further highlighted initiatives focused on women, youth and farmers, including Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Mission Shakti, Ujjwala Yojana, PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi and Rozgar Melas, describing them as pillars of its vision for a developed India.
Prime Minister Modi said the government remains committed to the principle of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas,” emphasizing inclusive development, social justice and equal opportunities for all sections of society as part of the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
As the NDA completes 12 years in office, the government maintains that welfare-driven governance, technological innovation, economic reforms and citizen-centric policies have laid the foundation for India’s continued progress and development. (JKNS)
