Anantnag, July 24 (JKNS): A walnut tree uprooted amid the prevailing weather conditions fell on a residential house and a cowshed in Astaan Mohalla, Seer Hamdan in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, causing significant property damage, officials and locals said on Friday.
According to details received by news agency JKNS, the tree fell on the residential house of late Mohammad Syed Shah / Abdul Hamid Shah, damaging a major portion of the rooftop.
The impact also damaged the cowshed belonging to Peer Mudasir Sultan, causing losses to the structure.
Fortunately, no loss of life or injuries were reported in the incident.
The affected families have appealed to the district administration to conduct an immediate assessment of the damage and provide adequate relief and compensation. They urged the authorities to take up the matter on priority and extend all possible assistance. (JKNS)
