New Delhi, Aug 9 (JKNS): Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday said Operation Sindoor demonstrated the courage of India’s armed forces and conveyed a clear message that the country would go to any extent to ensure the safety of its citizens.
Addressing an event at the Base Hospital, Delhi Cantonment, as per news agency JKNS, Singh praised the armed forces for targeting terrorists and their handlers based in Pakistan and said those who threatened India had faced serious consequences.
“Operation Sindoor demonstrated the unmatched valour of our defence forces who sent a global message that India will go to any extent to ensure the safety of its citizens while protecting the sindoor worn by our women,” Singh said.
Operation Sindoor was conducted by the Indian armed forces in May 2025 in response to the deadly Pahalgam terror attack.
Singh was speaking at the ‘Sindoor Maharaktadan Yatra’, a blood donation camp organised at the hospital.
Nearly 500 voluntary donors participated in the initiative, with athletes and wrestlers from Maharashtra among those who donated blood.
Calling blood donation ‘jivandan’ and ‘mahadan’, Singh said human blood has no artificial substitute and urged people, particularly the youth, to make voluntary blood donation a regular practice.
He said every blood donor and recipient contributes to the service of the nation and stressed the importance of maintaining adequate blood reserves for soldiers and their families.
The event was attended by Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, senior military officers, ministers and other civil and defence dignitaries. (JKNS)
