Bandipora, Aug 21 (JKNS): Youth Services and Sports Minister Satish Sharma, along with Sonawari MLA Advocate Hilal Akbar Lone, Bandipora MLA Nizamuddin Bhat, and other senior officers, today inaugurated the Syed Kamal-ud-Din Bukhari (SKB) Championship 2026 at the Naidkhai Sports Ground in Bandipora.
The championship began with an exciting opening match between Downtown FC and Kashmir Elegant, played under floodlights as a day-night sporting fixture.
The inaugural match witnessed an enthusiastic response from sports lovers, with thousands of spectators turning up at the venue to enjoy the game and support the participating teams.
The organisers said the championship aims to provide a vibrant platform for young footballers and promote sports culture among youth in the region.
The presence of senior public representatives, officials and a large gathering of spectators added further enthusiasm to the opening ceremony and the inaugural match. (JKNS)
