Kulgam, Aug 31 (JKNS): A 45-year-old woman was killed after being attacked by a bear in Tarigam village of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Monday, officials said.

Officials told news agency JKNS that the woman was working in an orchard when a bear attacked her, inflicting critical injuries.

They said she succumbed to her injuries on the spot before any medical assistance could be provided.

The deceased has been identified as Latifa Banoo (45), wife of Farooq Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Tarigam, Kulgam.

Police have taken cognisance of the incident, while further proceedings are underway. (JKNS)
