Budgam, September 17: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Budgam, SKUAST-K, organised a one-day capacity development programme on “Export Quality Standards and Branding of Agricultural Products” in collaboration with the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), Ministry of Commerce.
The programme was attended by Professor and Head, KVK Budgam, Dr. Bilal Ahmad Lone, Business Development Manager, APEDA, Dr. Azra Mufti, Dr. Mohammad Shafi, scientists from KVK Budgam, students of Degree College Soibugh and progressive farmers.
During the programme, Dr. Azra Mufti and scientists from KVK Budgam delivered expert lectures on maintaining quality standards of agricultural products, effective branding techniques and procedures for exporting agricultural produce to international markets.
More than 50 students and progressive farmers participated in the programme. The participants were also provided an opportunity to directly raise their concerns and queries with the experts, who offered practical guidance and possible solutions.
The programme aimed to enhance the knowledge and capacity of farmers regarding international quality standards, value addition and effective branding, enabling them to improve the market value and demand for their agricultural produce and explore available export opportunities in international markets.
