National Voluntary Blood Donation Day Observed at 179-Bn CRPF Headquarters Sopore

Sopore, October 01: National Voluntary Blood Donation Day was observed at the 179-Bn CRPF Headquarters, Sopore, with enthusiastic participation from CRPF personnel, who voluntarily donated blood for patients in need.

On the occasion, CO 179-Bn CRPF Shri Vinay Kumar Choudhary, CMO Dr. Vipin Kumar Singh, 2iC Shri Mange Ram Sharma, DC Ajay Kumar, DC Ajeya Kumar and Dr. Javid Ahmad Bhat were present.

A team from the Blood Bank, SDH Sopore, received blood donations from CRPF personnel.

Several CRPF jawans voluntarily donated blood, contributing to the lifesaving cause and strengthening the spirit of community service.

The theme of the programme was “One Drop of Humanity – Give Blood, Save Lives.”

Speaking to the media, CO 179-Bn CRPF Shri Vinay Kumar Choudhary said that CRPF personnel are always ready to donate blood for needy patients.

“Today, National Voluntary Blood Donation Day was observed at our 179-Bn CRPF Headquarters in Sopore, where a blood donation camp was organised. Our jawans donated blood for needy patients and other people who require blood,” he said.

He added that the CRPF regularly organises various community-oriented programmes in Sopore and adjoining areas, including blood donation drives, free medical camps, drug de-addiction awareness programmes and sports events.

Several CRPF personnel who participated in the blood donation drive said that donating blood is a noble act that can help save precious lives.

“Blood donation should be encouraged. We regularly donate blood, and it gives us immense satisfaction when our blood helps save someone’s life,” the jawans said.

The programme highlighted the importance of voluntary blood donation and encouraged people to come forward and contribute towards saving lives.
