Anantnag, July 7 (JKNS): A 7-year-old girl tragically lost her life after drowning in Batengoo area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Monday evening.
Officials told the news agency JKNS that the deceased has been identified as Simran Kaur, daughter of Happy Singh, a resident of Jalandhar, Punjab, presently putting up at Batengoo, Anantnag.
The minor reportedly slipped into a water body and drowned before help could arrive. A rescue operation was launched, but the girl was declared dead after being retrieved.
Local police have taken cognizance of the incident and further investigation started. (JKNS)
