DC Gbl directs for strict implementation of Covid-19 SOPs in the district

GANDERBAL, APRIL 24: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Krittika Jyotsna today directed the concerned Officers to ensure Covid SOPs are strictly implemented throughout the district.

The DC said this during a meeting convened here to review the implementation of Covid control efforts for mitigating the spread of infection in the district.

Speaking on the occasion, Jyotsna urged upon the officers to proactively sensitize the people to adhere to Covid-19 SOPs taking help from religious leaders, PRIs and  other civil societies to bring about a conscientious behavioral change with regard to the importance of wearing face masks, maintaining hygiene and social distancing.

While reviewing the progress of the vaccination campaign, the CMO informed that over 63,800 persons are vaccinated till date for which she urged for playing a proactive role to intensify vaccination campaign in the district, which is safe and imperative to contain Covid-19 infection.

The DC directed all concerned to put in place an effective mechanism to ensure Covid protocols are followed religiously in all main markets of the district and religious places during prayers and initiate stern action against the violators.

The meeting also discussed the implementation of instructions issued in the last meeting including vaccination to employees over the age of 45 years and other directions issued by the UT administration including restriction of public gathering, night curfew and imposition of restrictions for operating of shops.

The DC reiterated that the fight against the Corona cannot be won without active cooperation of the people and everyone needs to take extra care and adhere to Covid-19 SOPs in letter and spirit.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Farooq Ahmed Baba, ACR, CPO, Chief Medical Officer, Tehsildars and other concerned.
